- 3Keep waiting short; praise each step: “You put the blocks away!”

Meet the founder
Developed by a Behavioral Health Professional. Built for Early Childhood Educators.
Smart Behavior Plans was created by Jaime Varney, PMHNP-BC, based on experience working with young children, families, and educators facing complex behavioral needs in everyday settings. Clinical recommendations often don't fit the realities of a busy classroom with one teacher and twelve children. This platform bridges that gap: practical strategies, the words to use, and coaching that shows teachers exactly how.

Why I created Smart Behavior Plans →Support for the moments that make classrooms hard
How it works
From a challenging moment to a plan teachers can use today
Quick-pick the behavior, when it happens and what usually comes right before. About a minute, on a phone.
Record earlier strategies and how they went, so you don't get the same advice twice, and so a strategy isn't written off after an unfair trial.
A rules-based engine built on a curated intervention library suggests a small set of developmentally appropriate strategies and explains why.
A full behavior support plan, a one-page classroom quick plan, a parent message draft and linked coaching, ready to edit.
Assign short coaching lessons, log progress in seconds, and let directors review plans and trends.

Don't Just Give Teachers a Plan. Show Them How to Implement It.
Every behavior strategy comes with clear, practical, clinician-informed coaching that helps teachers understand what to do, what to say, and how to support children more consistently.
- • 5–10 minute micro-lessons linked to each strategy
- • Teacher scripts with shorter versions for emerging talkers
- • “Help Me Implement This”: three steps, the words to use, and what to do if it doesn't work
- • Knowledge checks, implementation checklists and director observation guides
Animated classroom demonstrations for each strategy will appear here once the scripts and videos pass professional review. No video has been published yet.

Questions
Does this diagnose children?
No. Smart Behavior Plans is an educational support tool. It never diagnoses, never claims to perform a functional behavioral assessment, and tells you when to seek a qualified professional.
Do I have to enter children's names?
No. Use initials or a center ID. Basic strategy recommendations don't need names or diagnoses.
Who wrote the strategies?
The intervention library is written in original language, cites published research, and goes through a professional review process before it's published to customers. Each strategy shows its review status.
Does every plan get reviewed by the founder?
No. Plans are generated from reviewed library content and your staff's observations. Your director reviews and approves your center's plans.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 7 days with no card required.
